"TAHN"

Tahn is the wonderful champion that came to live at Darrowby when Michelle Vinall and her family were living in New Zealand. Tahn is actually an Australian bred dog that was imported into New Zealand. Tahn was bred by Miss J A Salvestrin, owner of Tahn's dam, Australian Ch Allubyc Jewel of the Nile. His sire's owner, Ruth Eden, showed him to his New Zealand Championship. She also showed and trained his sire, Gr Champion Graveleigh Soaring High CDX QC to all of his incredible accomplishments. Tahn brought a linebred pedigree. He was OFA excellent at 71 months, CERF and cardiac clear. Tahn comes from a hard to find multipurpose background with some the top achieving bench, field and obedience dogs in Australia, New Zealand and England as parents and ancestors.

Tahn's sire was a Grand Champion. This title requires a minimum of 50 Championship Certificates and at least three Best in Show awards under three separate judges. Only eight Goldens have ever achieved this title to date--two of them are found in Tahn's pedigree!

Tahn  producied  beautiful puppies. The Junior Members section and active members features some of these puppies. Tahn's puppies reflect his movement and beautiful head. We will always be grateful to Tahn for both sharing his life with us and for leaving us such wonderful reminders of what a special dog he was. We will have another litter or two of Tahn babies in the future thanks to technology. Watch for them!

Tahn resided at Darrowby in upstate New York, and was a full time house dog. He was a very special family member who shared the master bedroom with Chad, Disco and two Corgis-- now his son Cessna, Jeeves, Marty and grandosn Pronto sleep there.   We are glad it is a big house as Sallie and Dennis like to sleep here as well.

OFA GR-58005E71M-T

This is an OFA excellent rating awarded at age 71 months. Tahn was also rated on the NZ hip scoring scheme-closely related to BVA, and his score is an incredible 2:3.

CERF Cardiac

Tahn's most recent eye clearance was in March of 1999. He had a cardiac clearance for SAS from a certified veterinary cardiologist.

This was Tahn and his buddy Scatman, not long before Tahn slept his last night on our bed and left us from his favorite spot. We said goodbye when was on the bed with Sallie and Dennis, and Marty kept popping up to help us say goodbye and give Tahn a few last kisses.tahn and buddy.jpg (40102 bytes)
